Please allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Claire De Gouveia. I have always admired the Sugar world and the ability we have to manipulate Sugar into various edible mediums creating endless designs using varieties of shapes, forms, colours and textures as well as ultimately the ability to create a symphony of flavours that delight the tastebuds and warm the heart. It is with this vision that I hope to create Sugarpieces which turn events into completely memorable occasions.

I thank the Lord for my talent which started at a young age watching my Grandmother decorate cakes. My obsessions continued through the years and with the advancement of online technology, I have been able to study with great Sugar designers like Carlos Leschitti, Emily Hankins, Christina Wallis, Julian Angel, Nasima Alam, Cynthia Irani, Grace Pak - The Duchess of Cameron, Marc Suarez, Tanaporn Vilaiaks and Kate Kim.

Back home, I have had the priviledge to have met and studied with the Italian Sugarmaster and creator of the pallet knife technique -Materiksa, Claudia Pratti. I have enjoyed opportunties to study with a few great cake artists in Gauteng. I also belong to various cake decorating groups and associations.

I spend much of my time trying to perfect my art form with continuous efforts to add a person element of class and wonder to my work, whilst making sure my clients wishes and considerations are my top priority. Each customer is always assured of my best attention and intentions.
